Social Mission

Our Reverend founder Servant of God Joseph Panjikaran (1888-1949) contemplated Christ, the reflection of God’s love and mercy in the deep silence of his heart and received with humility the merciful love of the Father in his pure heart. He desired intensely to share this merciful love with the least of the brethren. An inner call which was totally evangelical and divinely inspired compelled him to serve the poor, sick and the least with merciful love of Christ. Our congregation is the response of our beloved founder to his inner call. MSJ has been giving priority to healing ministry all the years. Even though, it has begun to give more importance in social mission from 1970’s. Our social apostolate activities are institutional care for orphans, destitute, unwed mothers, widows, old age parents, street children, women refugees, mentally ill care, skill training, social welfare activities, income generation programmes, adolescent & child development, women empowerment programmes, tribal development programmes, hostels for women, vocational training and placement services.
